Building with Zapier
Zapier is strongest at speed to a working integration, with almost every SaaS tool already supported. We reach for it when that is the property a workload actually depends on, and we say so when it is not.
Zapier's value is time-to-working-integration, and it is genuinely hard to beat for that. Where it stops being the right answer is volume: per-task pricing that is trivial at a thousand runs a month becomes a line item worth engineering away at a million.
The other consideration is data path. Tasks flow through a third party, which is a straightforward conversation for marketing automation and a much harder one for regulated financial or health data.
Integration comes before intelligence. A model that cannot reach your systems of record is a demo with good manners. You own the code, the models where they are open-weight, and the documentation to run it without us.
