We hold no reseller commission on YOLO. That is what makes the trade-off line above worth reading. It costs us nothing to tell you when this is the wrong choice.
Building with YOLO
YOLO is strongest at fast enough for real-time video on modest edge hardware. We reach for it when that is the property a workload actually depends on, and we say so when it is not.
YOLO's practical virtue is that it runs fast enough for real-time video on hardware you can actually afford to put on a factory floor. A more accurate architecture that needs a datacentre GPU is not a competitor for most industrial deployments.
It struggles with small, densely packed or heavily overlapping objects. Counting tablets on a blister pack or components on a crowded board usually needs a different approach, and we would say so rather than tune indefinitely.
Integration comes before intelligence. A model that cannot reach your systems of record is a demo with good manners. We hand over with runbooks, tests and a team that knows how it works, not a dependency.

Questions
What is YOLO best at?
Fast enough for real-time video on modest edge hardware.
When would you not use YOLO?
Small or highly overlapping objects need a different architecture. We would look at Claude or OpenAI GPT in that situation.
Do you have a commercial relationship with YOLO?
No. We hold no reseller commission on any technology we recommend, which is what lets the trade-off above be stated plainly.
Can you work with our existing YOLO setup?
Yes. We would rather extend and stabilise something that already works than introduce a parallel system your team has to learn.
Working with YOLO?
Tell us the workload and we will tell you whether this is the right tool for it.
