We hold no reseller commission on LiveKit. That is what makes the trade-off line above worth reading. It costs us nothing to tell you when this is the wrong choice.
Building with LiveKit
LiveKit is strongest at genuinely low latency with self-hosting available. We reach for it when that is the property a workload actually depends on, and we say so when it is not.
Voice agents live or die on latency, and most of the budget is spent before the model is even reached, capture, transport, buffering. LiveKit exists to make that path short and predictable, which is why it sits under real-time agents rather than alongside them.
Self-hosting is available and occasionally necessary, usually for data residency. It also means taking on real-time infrastructure operations, which is a genuine commitment rather than a configuration flag.
In an Indian deployment, network variability matters more than raw regional latency. Handling packet loss and jitter gracefully affects call quality more than shaving twenty milliseconds off the happy path.
We start from the constraint, not the capability, what the system must never do, who signs off, and what happens when it is wrong. You own the code, the models where they are open-weight, and the documentation to run it without us.

Questions
What is LiveKit best at?
Genuinely low latency with self-hosting available.
When would you not use LiveKit?
You take on real-time infrastructure operations. We would look at Vercel or Kubernetes in that situation.
Do you have a commercial relationship with LiveKit?
No. We hold no reseller commission on any technology we recommend, which is what lets the trade-off above be stated plainly.
Can you work with our existing LiveKit setup?
Yes. We would rather extend and stabilise something that already works than introduce a parallel system your team has to learn.
Working with LiveKit?
Tell us the workload and we will tell you whether this is the right tool for it.
