Why Supabase for this

In India, WhatsApp changes the calculus, but it is rule-bound. Proper opt-in and approved templates are not optional, and getting them wrong risks the number itself.

Supabase is strongest at production-grade auth and RLS without building them, on standard Postgres you can leave. For email & lifecycle marketing that matters because the failure modes of this kind of system tend to cluster exactly there.

The honest trade-off: opinionated in ways that occasionally fight a complex custom auth model. We say that up front because a stack chosen for fashion rather than fit becomes someone's migration project two years later. Integration comes before intelligence. A model that cannot reach your systems of record is a demo with good manners.

Six weeks to something running in production, not six quarters to a strategy document.

We are not a reseller for Supabase and hold no commission on this choice. Where a different option fits your workload better, the recommendation will say so. That is the entire value of asking us.

What is included

  • Deliverability foundation, SPF, DKIM, DMARC and list hygiene before any sending
  • Segmentation based on behaviour rather than demographics alone
  • Triggered flows: welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase, win-back
  • WhatsApp lifecycle where opt-in and template rules allow it
  • Testing on subject, send time and offer with real significance thresholds
  • Revenue-per-recipient reporting, not open rates alone

Questions

Email or WhatsApp in India?

Both, for different jobs. WhatsApp has far higher open rates and stricter rules and costs; email carries longer content and costs almost nothing. Transactional and urgent goes to WhatsApp, considered content to email.

Our emails land in spam. Fixable?

Usually. It is typically authentication records, list quality, or sending patterns rather than content. The audit identifies which, and reputation recovers with disciplined sending.

How often should we send?

Frequency matters less than relevance. Segmented sending to people who want it can be weekly; blasting everyone monthly still generates complaints.
