Why Supabase for this
Preview environments per pull request end the 'works on my machine' conversation permanently, and they make stakeholder review actually possible.
Supabase is strongest at production-grade auth and RLS without building them, on standard Postgres you can leave. For web application development that matters because the failure modes of this kind of system tend to cluster exactly there.
The honest trade-off: opinionated in ways that occasionally fight a complex custom auth model. We say that up front because a stack chosen for fashion rather than fit becomes someone's migration project two years later. We start from the constraint, not the capability, what the system must never do, who signs off, and what happens when it is wrong.
You own the code, the models where they are open-weight, and the documentation to run it without us.

Next.js with TypeScript and Postgres for most work, deployed on Vercel. We will happily work in your existing stack rather than insisting on ours.
Will it be fast?
