Why pgvector for this
Documentation rots because updating it is nobody's job. Automated staleness detection makes the rot visible, which is the first step to fixing it.
pgvector is strongest at one database for relational and vector data, with transactions across both. For knowledge base automation that matters because the failure modes of this kind of system tend to cluster exactly there.
The honest trade-off: at very large vector volumes a dedicated index outperforms it. We say that up front because a stack chosen for fashion rather than fit becomes someone's migration project two years later. We build the smallest thing that proves the case, put it in front of real users, and expand only what earns its keep.
We hand over with runbooks, tests and a team that knows how it works, not a dependency.
The honest assessment
- What it is
- Vector search inside Postgres, no separate vector database to operate.

We are not a reseller for pgvector and hold no commission on this choice. Where a different option fits your workload better, the recommendation will say so. That is the entire value of asking us.

Questions
Will it replace our technical writers?
No. It removes the drudgery of first drafts and staleness tracking so writers spend their time on structure, accuracy and the hard explanations.
How does it know when content is stale?
By watching the underlying systems and code for changes that contradict what a document asserts, then alerting the document's owner.
Can it work across languages?
Yes, with human review on each language version rather than publishing machine translation unchecked.
